Sustainable ICT
GCI is developing a strategic plan around Sustainable ICT in it’s role of informing, training, educating, connecting and entertaining the global population in their own native languages.
Our first project is the EcoStrata Database Project which is being developed in cooperation with the International Free and Open Source Software Foundation.
Green Cities Institute (GCI) will organize Eco Strata Database which introduces a multi-language accessible digital dashboard connecting biogeophysical databases around the world.
ECOSTRATA OBJECTIVES:
- Develop a knowledgebase on sustainable technologies, products, practices, services, events, activities and pioneers.
- Repurpose the knowledge base for curricula, media and live education opportunities in partnership with leading local and global organizations by syndication, license and alliance building
- Develop new the ICMT (Information Communication & Media Technology) to deliver sustainability training based on Web 3.0 methods (virtual and live experience integration) leveraging a financially viable business strategy.
- Aggregate and develop new scientific training, policy training eco-edutainment content in native languages around sustainable themes and topics.
- Provide continuing education technical training focused on multi-language live and on-line settings for technicians, middle management, professionals, public servants and government officials.
- Advance and accelerate a deepening of overall awareness of how quality of life is affected by sustainable design and green business development.
- Provide the infrastructural foundation for operations, communications, and management of a start-up field operations movement – “The Ecology Corps”.

Since we are in the very beginning stages of engaging this project we welcome your input and participation.
GCI will create and maintain partnerships with leading institutions towards continuing education for technical and management personnel in business and government.
Finally, GCI will provide the core hardware and software systems for the engagement of the Ecology Corps, a planned global volunteer movement around sustainable retrofit and ecological restoration.
