Academies

GCI hopes to develop a funding platform to assist organizations dedicated to providing both live and virtual sustainability training. GCI funded academies would resemble Asheville, NC’s  Ashevillage Insitute (AVI) a project of Kleiwerks International.  AVI  creates sustainable living solutions through education, demonstration and action.

 
AVI creates sustainable living solutions through:
• Hands-on sustainablity workshops for local leaders and citizens
• Eco-demonstration centers that serve local needs
• Community outreach, organization & advocacy
• Educational documentation & presentations

Kleiwerks International is part of a worldwide movement that is reviving and refining the art and joy of earthen and other indigenous building techniques. We are a powerful and growing international network of visionary Natural Building and Permaculture activists, educators, builders, authors, documenters, architects, artists, and students. As a ‘movement,’ we share a common thread: A dedication to learning, teaching and practicing sustainable ways of living, including how we shelter our selves.
