Academies

GCI hopes to develop a funding platform to assist organizations dedicated to providing both live and virtual sustainability training. GCI funded academies would resemble Asheville, NC’s  Ashevillage Insitute (AVI) a project of Kleiwerks International.  AVI  creates sustainable living solutions through education, demonstration and action.
AVI creates sustainable living solutions through:
• Hands-on sustainablity workshops for local leaders and citizens
• Eco-demonstration centers that serve local needs
• Community outreach, organization & advocacy
• Educational documentation & presentations

Kleiwerks International is part of a worldwide movement that is reviving and refining the art and joy of earthen and other indigenous building techniques. We are a powerful and growing international network of visionary Natural Building and Permaculture activists, educators, builders, authors, documenters, architects, artists, and students. As a ‘movement,’ we share a common thread: A dedication to learning, teaching and practicing sustainable ways of living, including how we shelter our selves. We are individuals and communities who are realizing’ our visions for a better world, not just talking about it. Sustainability Education

We promote Sustainability education to be elevated to the mainstream education in campuses. The Sustainability best practices need more research and exchanges. The Science, Technology and Management aspects of Sustainable production, distribution and consumption pattern requires attention from Universities. The current pattern of resource use and production pattern would gradually transform to new market trends for sustainable and responsible business, which will benefit all.

 Sustainability Exchange (SustainEx)

GCI initiative to facilitate and promote University level sustainability research and development projects. We are pleased announce an online system to facilitate inter University Exchange of information and exchange of Sustainability research, products and solutions. The initiative aims to leverage unique advantages each department and campuses provides to advance the adoption of sustainability best practices.
